Parents Fund
Every year current and former parents and grandparents of JHU students provide unrestricted support for students’ out-of-classroom experiences. Parents Fund gifts benefit all students on the Homewood campus, and support student life programs and activities which provide a wonderful balance to Johns Hopkins’ rigorous academic program.
Recent programs and activities supported by the Parents Fund:
• First Night, Fall Festival, Commemoration Day and Lighting of the Quad - all annual Hopkins traditions
• "Explore the World Around You" cultural trips to NYC, D.C. and local museums in Baltimore
• Faculty-student interaction and programs in Charles Commons
• "Four Course Meals"— mini-seminars-over-dinner with students and faculty
• The new student lounge in Levering Hall
• Artwork for residence halls
• Senior Week celebration prior to Commencement
• Intersession courses, including the Wall Street trip and B’More – a Baltimore adventure
• Flash-ad campus event notification system installed in the Library, Charles Commons and other key campus locations
The 2010 Parents Fund Goal is to raise $525,000 from 1,890 donors.
All parents and grandparents are encouraged to participate. Donors, who make Parents Fund gifts of $5,000 and above, are listed on the Wall of Honor in Charles Commons.
